Meet The Team:
James Golden, Principal / Broker of Record: James has over 20 years experience in Real Estate and Mortgage Finance. In the fall of 1998 he co-founded Express Capital Lending with his father and brother. Over the next 10 years Express Capital Lending funded and sold over 7.2 Billion in prime and non-conforming loans (excluding sub-prime). These loans were sourced nationwide through retail and wholesale channels from over 5000 approved brokers. In his role of Senior Vice President/Sales Manager/Broker of Record, James trained and managed a sales staff of over 60 people. In 2007, he co-founded Golden Capital Group again with his brother David. From 2007 – 2011, Golden Capital Group acquired, managed and sold over 50 million in distressed real estate throughout California. Now, Golden Capital Groups primary focus is originating residential and commercial private money loans then reselling those loans on the private secondary market. Other interests include mountain biking, camping, traveling, backpacking and spending time with his wife and 4 children.
Janet Honaker, Operations Manager: Janet brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Golden Capital Group. She has over 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry. Most recently she was Sr. VP/Operations Manager for Express Capital Lending. She started at ECL during the formation of the company and saw it grow to funding $170 million a month. In this role Janet oversaw virtually all aspects of operations for the company including new loan setup, funding, shipping, adverse action, accounting and human resources. She managed a staff of 50 employees and was a member of Sr. Loan Committee. Before joining ECL, Janet was the operations manager for E.M.B. Mortgage, another start up company. In this position she was directly responsible for managing all areas of both the retail and wholesales divisions from loan processing through funding and shipping. She implemented procedures and guidelines for the corporate office and branches. Prior to EMB, Janet worked for Hamilton Financial where she performed thorough underwriting analysis of borrower’s income, assets and credit profiles in accordance with FNMA, FHLMC, Conduit and Jumbo Investor’s guidelines and prudent lending practices. Additionally, Janet worked for Columbia Savings and Loan Association. At CSL she analyzed and processed various types of loan applications in accordance with underwriting guidelines and regulations. She also worked in major loan collections and dealt directly with delinquent borrowers to bring loans current or to begin foreclosure proceedings.
